Charities Served
Mission Road Developmental Center is a non-profit organization located in San Antonio, Texas, serving 45 children (ages 3-17) with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities by providing residential services. Founded in 1947, Mission Road is one of two non-profit organizations in Texas caring for children with mental retardation who have been removed from their family by Child Protective Services because of neglect and abuse. Nearly all of the children have physical disabilities and challenging behaviors, along with emotional scars. Mission Road provides cottage living on a 20-acre Southside campus with trained staff – serving as family - to empower each child to live an independent and productive life, achieving their maximum potential.
Mission Road receives support from the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, governmental funding and private donations from foundations and individuals. Mission Road Developmental Center is part of the Mission Road Ministries family of agencies. Learn more by visiting: http://missionroadministries.org
