King Antonio LXXXIX

William Franklin Mitchell

I am humbled to represent The Texas Cavaliers as King Antonio LXXXIX for Fiesta 2011. This great honor enables me to spread goodwill to residents and visitors during this special time, as well as support the youth of San Antonio in important ways.

The Texas Cavaliers believe in the future of all children and we work to ensure opportunities for them. As King Antonio, I will have the honor of presenting over $200,000 to San Antonio and Bexar County children's charities. These donations will bring the total amount of support given since 1989, through the Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation, to over $2,200,000.

As a native San Antonian and President of G.W. Mitchell Construction, my family has participated in Fiesta for many decades. I currently serve as a Commissioner and member of the Fiesta San Antonio Commission. I am a Past President of the Alamo Kiwanis Club, a former board member of the Boys and Girls Club and the 100 Club, and am a past River Parade Marshal and past Commander of the Texas Cavaliers. I received a BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M in 1980 and am married to the former Margaret Hinchey. We have four children, Erin, Will, Matt and Brian and a son in law Brandon Clementson.

During my reign, my Aides and I will visit military bases, hospitals, and nursing homes, as well as schools. We will honor teachers and deliver my special message, Don’t Stop Believing!, to the children of our city. Don’t stop Believing in yourself, your family, your friends and your faith. Encourage each other and make good decisions, and you will always be a winner!
